Set to share centre stage at the BETT shows “Learn Live” sessions this week, we're thrilled to announce today that we're joining with exam board OCR, to announce a collaboration which aims to create new forms of content to support the Computer Science curriculum, as well as demonstrating the use of new technology for on-going course work assessment, and eventual vocational qualification assessment.
The new content is intended to integrate seamlessly with Codio’s cloud IDE platform, using the Codio “Guides” feature, which brings teaching content to life within a real integrated development environment – recognising the teacher and student benefits associated with a “learning by doing” form of computer science education.
Codio’s platform allows rich instructional content to sit along side student computer programming workspaces within the IDE.
OCR has pioneered computer science qualifications in schools, and developed - with Raspberry Pi and CUP - the first school MOOC for computing; and OCR’s expertise in qualifications development will help inform the structure of the new content and its relevance to both teachers and students.
